Ashton Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading supplier and installer of heating and chimney products across Northern Ireland.

Location: Belfast (Based at Duncrue Industrial Estate)

Pay Rate: £15.00 - £18.00 per hour + Company Vehicle & Fuel Card Provided

Hours of Work: Monday - Thursday, 8:00am - 5:00pm | Friday, 8:00am - 2:30pm

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent (after a successful 12 week probationary period)

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a motivated and reliable Fitter / Joiner to join their installation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced joiner looking to develop a long-term career within a specialist industry, with full training provided.

Working alongside an experienced Team Leader, the successful candidate will install chimney flue systems at residential and commercial customer sites throughout Northern Ireland. As experience and knowledge develop, there will be the opportunity to progress into leading your own team of operatives.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for assisting with the installation of chimney flue systems while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, safety and customer service.

Duties will include:

  • Installing chimney flue systems at customer sites across Northern Ireland
  • Working alongside the Team Leader to complete projects safely and efficiently
  • Travelling to customer locations throughout Northern Ireland
  • Loading and unloading materials, tools and equipment
  • Ensuring all installations meet company and industry standards
  • Following Health & Safety procedures at all times
  • Maintaining company tools, equipment and vehicles
  • Providing a professional and customer-focused service on every installation
  • Developing the skills and knowledge required to eventually lead your own installation team

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of 1 year's practical joinery experience
  • Valid CSR Card
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Good practical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel throughout Northern Ireland
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop

Physical Requirements

This role involves manual handling, lifting, working at height and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Candidates must be comfortable carrying out physically demanding tasks while working safely on customer sites throughout Northern Ireland.
