The Role
Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing HSEQ systems across the organisation. This is a varied, hands-on position involving both site-based and office-based responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSEQ systems
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of health and safety documentation
- Support the reporting, investigation and follow-up of incidents, near misses and non-conformances
- Carry out site inspections, audits, and assist with RAMS preparation and review
- Monitor compliance with health and safety standards across projects
- Support internal audits and ISO management systems
- Coordinate and track health and safety training and competency requirements
- Work closely with operational teams to promote safe systems of work
- Contribute to health and safety initiatives and campaigns across the business
- Provide general support to ensure the effective running of the HSEQ function
Essential Criteria
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, engineering or similar
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work in construction environments
- Working knowledge of quality assurance processes
- Experience supporting or working with ISO systems
- Good knowledge of current health and safety legislation
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Full UK driving licence
