Hours of Work: Monday - Sunday, 40hrs per week

Salary range: £36,000 - £45,000 depending on experience, with OTE reaching £44,000 to £58,000 through call-out allowances, performance bonuses and paid overtime.

Ashton Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mobile Commercial Van Technician on behalf of our client based in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing organisation operating within the cash management and security sector. Our client provides specialist cash management, ATM, and secure processing services across the UK and Ireland and is seeking a reliable, detail-focused individual to join their operation.

The Role

To maximize fleet uptime by delivering high-quality mobile servicing, preventative maintenance and rapid breakdown response for Light Commercial Vehicles (up to 3.5 tonnes) across Greater Belfast/Northern Ireland. The role bridges the gap between emergency roadside rescue and scheduled corporate fleet maintenance directly at customer business premises.

Duties will include:

  • Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on major commercial van brands like Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, Ford Transits. Electrical knowledge would be an advantage - Full training provided.
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance, vehicle inspections and minor defect repairs on-site to limit customer inconvenience.
  • Prepare commercial vans for rigorous Northern Ireland MOT/PSV testing standards directly from the mobile service unit.
  • Accurately complete digital job cards, parts logging and service sheets via cloud-based online systems in line with strict manufacturer fleet protocols.
  • Calibrate Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) commonly integrated into modern commercial delivery fleets.

Essential Criteria

  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Light Vehicle/Commercial Maintenance and Repair.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience specifically working in a commercial workshop or mobile LCV fleet environment.
  • A full UK Category C driving licence.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise directly with corporate fleet managers, giving clear technical advice on "repair vs. recovery" choices.
