Our client is a forward-thinking, fast-paced engineering company manufacturing some of the most technologically advanced agricultural/industrial machinery in Northern Ireland with worldwide distribution and are currently recruiting for a Lead Service Technician to join their team. Role: Lead Service Technician
Location: Downpatrick, Co. Down
Duration: Temp - perm
Rate of Pay: £16 - £18 per hour
Hours of work: Monday - Friday (41.25 hpw)
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Pre-delivery inspection of new machinery before customer delivery
- Service and maintenance of machinery (in factory and customer sites)
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic and mechanical faults
- Build strong relationships with customers, ensuring an excellent service experience
- A high focus on continuous improvement initiatives
- Report factory defects and assist with solutions
- Ability to adapt and learn new tools/techniques as needed and a willingness to embrace change
Essential requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical engineering work
- Strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read technical manuals and diagrams effectively
- Skilled at providing excellent customer service, on-site and over the phone
- Ability to work independently and under pressure as well as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence or equivalent
Desirable Requirements:
- Basic vehicle electronic knowledge
- CANBUS knowledge
- Knowledge of LEAN production practices
