Ashton Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Joinery Estimator / Fit-Out Estimator to join our client, a leading bespoke joinery and interior fit-out manufacturer based in Northern Ireland.

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded bespoke joinery and interior fit-out company delivering high-end commercial, hospitality, retail and specialist manufacturing projects across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, they are now seeking an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in joinery estimating, interior fit-out estimating, construction estimating or bespoke manufacturing projects.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially competitive estimates for bespoke joinery, interior fit-out and manufacturing projects. You will work closely with design, production and project management teams to review tender documentation, analyse technical drawings and prepare detailed costings covering materials, labour, subcontractors and installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review tender drawings, specifications and scope of works for joinery and fit-out packages
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for bespoke joinery and interior fit-out projects
  • Measure quantities from technical drawings and specifications
  • Price materials, labour, subcontractors and installation costs
  • Liaise with design, production and manufacturing teams regarding buildability and manufacturing methods
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Prepare clear and commercially competitive tender submissions
  • Identify project risks, assumptions and exclusions within estimates
  • Attend tender review and commercial meetings
  • Support value engineering opportunities to improve project competitiveness
  • Maintain accurate estimating records and tender documentation
  • Assist with project handovers to delivery teams

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience in estimating within joinery, fit-out, interiors, construction or manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of bespoke joinery manufacturing processes and materials
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction specifications
  • Excellent commercial awareness and numerical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable

  • Experience pricing commercial interiors, hospitality, retail or specialist fit-out projects
  • Quantity Surveying or construction-related background
  • Knowledge of bespoke manufacturing or interior construction processes
