Ashton Recruitment is currently recruiting for an Administrative Officer on behalf of our public sector client based in Craigavon. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to join a busy and supportive team within a well-established organisation.

The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative support across a fast-paced department, supporting day-to-day operations, customer service, financial administration, reporting, and coordination duties.

Duties will include:

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support including document preparation, database management, filing, reports, and correspondence
  • Acting as a first point of contact for telephone and email enquiries
  • Supporting the management of maintenance requests and internal helpdesk systems
  • Scheduling meetings and taking accurate notes/minutes
  • Processing purchase orders, invoices, and financial records
  • Assisting with reporting, audits, and data analysis
  • Supporting complaints handling and Freedom of Information requests
  • Liaising with internal departments, contractors, and members of the public
  • Maintaining confidential and sensitive records in line with procedures

Essential Criteria:

  • 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) including English Language and Mathematics or equivalent
  • At least 1 year's relevant administrative experience including:
    • Word processing
    • Data input
    • Minute taking
    • Record keeping
    • Administration of invoices/accounts
    • Handling confidential information
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure

Desirable:

  • 2 years' relevant administrative experience in a similar environment

This role may also require a satisfactory Basic Access NI check prior to appointment.
