Ashton Recruitment require a Short-Term Hire Business Development Manager for our client based in Lisburn.

Location: Lisburn/Dublin (field based)

Duration: Permanent

Pay Rate: £36,000-£40,000 + Commission + Company Car

A leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland is seeking a self-motivated, hardworking, and enthusiastic Business Development Manager to join the Short-Term Hire team based in Lisburn. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to drive growth and make a meaningful impact within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Duties will include:

  • Proactively identify and develop new customer relationships across Northern Ireland to maximise utilisation of the short-term hire fleet.
  • Collaborate closely with the Short-Term Hire Manager and wider team to consistently meet customer requirements and uphold high service standards.
  • Work towards achieving volume targets for the Short-Term Hire division.
  • Effectively manage a route plan to ensure comprehensive coverage of the customer base.
  • Uncover new business opportunities through ongoing research of industry trends, events, publications, and announcements.
  • Develop tailored strategies by assessing risks and anticipating customer needs, ensuring a competitive and customer-focused approach.
  • Secure new short-term hire contracts by aligning customer requirements with service offerings, negotiating terms, and integrating agreements into operational processes.
  • Leverage insights from local and national market trends to inform business strategy and enhance customer value.
  • Maintain and grow the existing client portfolio through regular engagement and support.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of the right mix and quality of products and services.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience with sales, business development or account management.
  • Proven record in a problem-solving role.
  • Customer service focussed with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Capital equipment experience required ideally in the material handling industry.
  • Full, clean driving licence with a willingness to travel within Ireland.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Results Driven.
  • Flexibility.
