Ashton Recruitment is currently recruiting for Brake Press Operators for our client based in Ballynahinch.

Location: Ballynahinch

Rate of pay: £12.00 - £13.50 per hour depending on experience + 50p per hour timekeeping bonus on completion of 40 hpw

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Up and operate the brake press machine to bend and shape metal sheets according to technical drawings or specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings (e.g., pressure, speed, and tooling) based on material type, thickness, and desired shape.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD designs to ensure precision in bending and forming processes.
  • Ensure that the correct tolerances are met for the product specifications.
  • Load metal sheets onto the brake press bed, ensuring proper alignment for accurate bending.
  • Secure material using clamps, jigs, or other tools to prevent movement during the press cycle.
  • Follow safety protocols, wear appropriate protective gear (e.g., gloves, goggles), and ensure the work area is safe for other employees.
  • Ensure proper machine guarding is in place to protect against accidents during operation.

Essential Experience:

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Ensuring precise measurements and bending.
