Ashton Recruitment are currently recruiting a Town Warden on behalf of our client, based in Banbridge. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking temporary council work, outdoor roles, or public-facing environmental jobs in the Banbridge area.

- Location: Banbridge
- Pay Rate: £13.05 per hour
- Contract Type: Temporary - 3 months with potential extension
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Tuesday to Friday: 8.30am - 4.30pm
- Saturday: 8.30am - 4.00pm
Responsibilities
- The Town Warden will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming town centre environment. This role involves litter control, environmental maintenance, and acting as a point of contact for the local community, including responding to public enquiries and complaints.
- Carry out routine litter picking and respond to priority areas as required
- Clean and maintain public conveniences
- Remove graffiti and fly-posting
- Undertake weeding and general grounds maintenance
- Identify and report damage, defects, vandalism or disrepair to the supervisor
- Report littering and dog fouling offences in line with regulations
- Act as a visible presence in the town centre and engage with the local community
- Provide advice and assistance to members of the public
- Follow all health and safety policies, ensuring the safety of yourself, colleagues and the public
- Complete any other duties appropriate to the role
Essential Criteria
- Experience in face-to-face customer service or public-facing roles
- Previous experience in litter picking, labouring or environmental work
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative
- Ability to follow clear instructions and established procedures
- Awareness of health and safety regulations
