Ashton Recruitment is currently hiring multiple Early Start Van Drivers on behalf of our highly successful client based at Nutts Corner. In this role, you will be accountable for driving a company van to deliver retail stock to stores across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Drivers typically complete between 2 and 7 drops per day, based on delivery locations and routes.
Position: Early Start Van Driver
Location: Nutts Corner
Duration: Temporary (Permanent positions may become available based on performance)
Rate of Pay: Starts at £13 per hour increasing to £13.40 per hour after successful review
Hours of Work: Monday to Sunday - Any 5 out of 7 days (Weekends included) Mon to Sat: Start time between 2.30am to 6am, Sun: Start time between 5am to 8.30am. Drivers will typically work between 6 to 12 hours per day based on delivery routes. Weekly hours will range from 35 to 45 hours per week to ensure appropriate rest breaks are given when long distance driving.
Various delivery locations will include Cork, Galway, Dublin, Donegal, Waterford, Wexford, Kerry, Carlow, Kilkenny, Sligo, Athlone, Roscommon, Westmeath, Limerick, Antrim, Armagh, Down, Derry/ Londonderry, Fermanagh. This is not an exhaustive list of locations & may change based on business needs.
Duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Loading and off-loading vans to customer stores
- Driving long distance, making multi-drop deliveries (2 to 7 drops) to stores across NI & ROI
- Working efficiently to complete daily deliveries
- Providing excellent customer service and building positive relationships with staff
- Reporting any missing or damaged goods immediately
- Filling in all paperwork accurately and in a timely fashion
Essential Criteria:
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 points
- Previous experience as a 3.5T Van Driver
- Flexibility to work the hours required
- Good geographic knowledge of NI & ROI and time management skills
- Own transport due to location of the warehouse and the hours required to work (public transport is not operational in the area)
