Fresh Food Manager - Deli, Bakery & Butchery
Location: Moy, Co. Tyrone
Salary: £36,000 + performance bonus of up to £3,600 per annum
Hours: Full-time | 40 hours per week | 5 days out of 7

Ashton Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Fresh Food Manager on behalf of a leading independent convenience retailer in Moy.
You’ll oversee the store’s deli, bakery, butchery, food preparation and beverage departments, ensuring customers enjoy quality products, excellent availability and friendly service.
This role would suit a hands‑on manager with a background in fresh food retail, convenience retail, cafés or hospitality who enjoys developing people and driving commercial performance.
The Role
Working closely with the Store Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the fresh food operation. You’ll keep standards high, support your team and ensure each department performs efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, motivating and developing colleagues across all fresh food departments.
- Planning rotas and staffing levels to meet demand while managing labour budgets.
- Driving sales, gross profit and departmental targets, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Overseeing ordering, stock control and production planning to maintain availability and minimise waste.
- Ensuring food safety, HACCP, hygiene and legal requirements are consistently met.
- Maintaining attractive product displays and high standards of presentation.
- Delivering excellent customer service and handling queries or concerns professionally.
- Supporting menu development, new product launches and seasonal promotions.
- Working with the Store Manager to improve processes and resolve operational issues.
About You
You’ll be comfortable leading from the front, making decisions and balancing the demands of a busy food operation.
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ management experience within a fresh food, Foodhall, deli, café or convenience retail environment.
- A proven track record of delivering sales, margin and labour targets.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience supporting and developing teams.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety requirements, HACCP and hygiene standards.
- Experience managing stock, rotas and day‑to‑day operational performance.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
- A hands‑on approach and a passion for food quality and customer service.
Experience within SPAR, EUROSPAR, a supermarket or another high-volume food retail environment would be advantageous.
