Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our team as a Coffee Shop Casual.
The ideal candidate will have barista training or experience working in a food and beverage outlet, a genuine passion for the industry, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Food and Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve hot beverages, including espresso, latte, flat white, tea, and hot chocolate.
- Prepare and serve hot and cold foods, ensuring quality and presentation meet standards.
- Wrap, label, and date food items as required.
- Customer Experience
- Describe menu items to customers and upsell where appropriate.
- Build strong relationships with customers to foster a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
- Staff Supervision
- Supervise casual and other staff members during shifts.
- Train and develop team members to ensure consistent service quality.
- Operational Duties
- Open and close the coffee shop as required.
- Maintain accurate records of food and equipment temperatures.
- Follow and enforce all health and food safety measures.
- Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining relevant documentation.
- Report incidents, accidents, or hazards promptly.
- Complete and review risk assessments for the department.
- Salary
- £10.85 or £12.21 per hour, dependant on age
- Hours various including home match days weekends and evenings
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing role within the food and beverage industry.
- Barista training or equivalent experience with food preparation and cooking.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience in training and supervising staff.
