The Business Development Sales Executive is responsible for driving hospitality revenue growth at Ashton Gate Stadium by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities. The role will proactively target local and regional corporate organisations through outbound sales activity whilst converting inbound new business enquiries. Working closely with the Head of Hospitality, Event Coordinators and Commercial Director, the successful candidate will ensure a seamless sales to delivery journey, maximising new business acquisition. This is a target driven role requiring previous outbound sales experience, excellent relationship building skills, and the flexibility to work matchdays and key stadium events.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Business Development
- Identify, target, and secure new local and regional corporate clients through outbound sales activity, including calls, meetings, networking, and stadium tours.
- Proactively manage and convert inbound hospitality enquiries for matchday hospitality experiences.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, ensuring consistent activity and progression against agreed revenue targets.
- Promote the full range of Ashton Gate Stadium hospitality products, including executive boxes, lounges and restaurants.
- Upsell and cross-sell hospitality offerings to maximise revenue per client.
- Client Relationship Management
- Develop long-term relationships with corporate clients, understanding their business objectives and tailoring hospitality solutions accordingly.
- Act as a key point of contact during the sales process, ensuring a smooth handover to Event Coordinators for delivery.
- Attend matchdays and events to host clients, strengthen relationships, and identify future sales opportunities.
- Working closely with the Head of Hospitality to hand over repeat business and contract renewals through exceptional service and proactive relationship management.
- Local Market Engagement
- Establish a strong presence within the Bristol and South West business community.
- Where appropriate attend local networking events, exhibitions, and business forums to generate new leads.
- Work collaboratively with local stakeholders, sponsors, and partners to increase brand awareness and hospitality sales.
- Performance & Reporting
- Work to agreed individual and team sales targets, KPIs, and activity levels.
- Accurately record sales activity, pipeline progress, and client information using CRM systems.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and performance updates to the Commercial Director.
- Matchday & Event Support
- Work home matchdays and key stadium events as required.
- Support on the day hospitality delivery from a sales and client relationship perspective, ensuring a premium guest experience.
Essential Criteria
- Knowledge and experience of the sports hospitality or events industry
- Proven experience in new business acquisition and relationship development
- Ability to negotiate
- Attention to detail for revenue CRM input
- Highly organised and methodical approach to workload
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days to include evenings and weekends
Salary: up to £32,000 per annum
