We're looking for an organised and proactive Business Administrator to support our busy Workshop team and wider business operations.

You'll help keep things moving behind the scenes, from managing documentation and maintaining accurate records to supporting equipment, projects and day-to-day workshop activities.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Workshop team, including maintaining documentation, records, spreadsheets, invoices and timesheets.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring information is accurate and processes are followed.
  • Maintain asset records, equipment maintenance files, training records, certifications and other technical documentation, ensuring everything is up to date and easy to access.
  • Create and maintain organised electronic filing systems and support the administration and updating of equipment work orders.
  • Assist with project mobilisation and demobilisation activities, including documentation, equipment sourcing and coordination with Project and Workshop teams.
  • Support the administration of third-party equipment and QHSE documentation, ensuring required records and certifications are maintained.
  • Provide wider administrative support across the business, including covering for colleagues, supporting apprentices and getting involved in ad-hoc projects when required.
  • Work in line with Ashtead Technology's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards and procedures.

What you'll bring

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within a technical, workshop or project environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence managing documents, records and electronic filing systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with different teams.
  • Experience managing technical, certification or compliance documentation would be advantageous.
  • Experience supporting engineering projects, asset-based operations or using project/asset management systems would be beneficial.
  • A proactive and helpful approach, with the ability to manage changing priorities and support the wider team.
