Ashtead Technology have an exciting opportunity for an ROV Tooling Technician to join our busy team in Kintore - we are seeking a hands‑on problem solver with a passion for technical problem‑solving and offshore technology.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Inspecting, maintaining, testing, and repairing a wide range of ROV tooling and associated equipment.
- Commissioning new tooling systems and supporting bespoke tooling builds from assembly through to testing.
- Preparing tooling packages for offshore mobilisation, ensuring all equipment is certified, operational, and deployment‑ready.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electro‑hydraulic systems.
- Supporting mobilisations, site interface testing, and commissioning activities when required.
- Managing equipment records, work orders, and inventory to maintain operational readiness and traceability.
What Experience You’ll Bring:
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven experience maintaining, inspecting, testing, and repairing ROV tooling equipment.
- Strong knowledge of ROV tooling systems, including torque tools, valve packs, cutters, LAOTs, and IHPUs.
- Sound understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems, with the ability to diagnose faults and interpret schematics.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive, detail‑focused approach.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with electrical systems and fault‑finding would be advantageous.
