Are you looking for a role that takes your mechanical expertise beyond the workshop and into the field? At Ashtead Technology, we have an opportunity for an Offshore / Onshore based Mechanical Technician to join our team and work collaboratively across both environments.
Based primarily at our Thainstone Technology Centre, this role also offers the opportunity to mobilise offshore on an ad-hoc basis, supporting operations as required. Whether you’re in the workshop or offshore, you’ll be working with cutting edge equipment and technology as part of a skilled, solutions-driven team.
Key responsibilities:- Operating, servicing and maintaining our fleet of subsea cutting, dredging, and cleaning equipment.
- Reconditioning of offshore equipment to restore performance and reliability after exposure to harsh subsea conditions.
- Sharing insights and knowledge gained from offshore trips with the wider team to support continuous improvement and knowledge transfer across onshore operations.
- Supporting customers with pre-mob and de-mob of equipment and carrying out familiarisation training with 3rd parties as necessary.
- Providing versatile workshop support – including yard operations, forklift duties, fabrication, welding, machining, and electrical tasks, keeping things running smoothly.
- HNC or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Specific offshore experience in subsea operations within IRM and decommissioning scopes.
- Experience in operating subsea, cutting, dredging, and cleaning tools with abrasive experience preferred.
- Willingness to work hands-on outdoors all year round, embracing the challenges of both onshore and offshore environments.
