We are looking for an experienced Home Manager to take the lead at Ashridge Court Care Centre in Bexhill-on-Sea. Ashridge Court is a 69-bed nursing, residential and dementia home, situated in attractive East Sussex surroundings close to the coast. The home provides residential, nursing, dementia, respite and palliative care and has an excellent 9.8/10.

Contract: £80,000 - £90,000 per annum

  • Opportunity to earn up to 40% of salary through annual bonus
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Pension
  • 5.6 weeks' annual leave

The home has recently undergone a CQC visit, and we are looking for a new Home Manager who can take ownership of the next phase: strengthening quality, governance, workforce performance and consistency across the service. We're therefore not simply looking for someone who has previously held a Home Manager title.

From there, you'll create the structure and accountability required to deliver consistently high standards of care. You'll lead quality and clinical governance, develop the management team, strengthen workforce stability and work with the wider business to continue growing occupancy. With agency usage currently averaging approximately 130 hours per week, building a strong permanent workforce and reducing that reliance will be another important priority.

Ashridge Court needs a Home Manager who leads from within the home rather than from behind an office door. You'll already have a strong track record managing a sizeable care home, ideally within a nursing environment, and nurse qualification would be preferred. You'll understand CQC regulation thoroughly and be able to demonstrate positive inspection outcomes and/or meaningful service improvement.

You'll combine a strong understanding of quality and clinical governance with commercial awareness and people leadership and be comfortable using data to understand performance and inform decision-making.

Current Performance Snapshot:

  • 69 beds
  • 82% occupancy
  • .uk: 9.8/10
  • CQC visit outcome pending
  • 130 agency hours per week

Ashridge Court already has a very positive reputation amongst residents and families, providing the incoming Home Manager with some strong foundations to build upon. There are also clear opportunities to strengthen workforce stability, reduce agency reliance and continue developing quality and governance across the service.

For the right leader, the opportunity is to bring those elements together and build a home that performs consistently across quality, people, resident experience and commercial performance.
