Job Description
Ashoka is piloting an expansion of our volunteer program that will provide our staff and Fellows with specific professional consults and project-based participation in six of the most highly requested areas of need, resource development being one. We are calling volunteer participants on these six teams Ashoka Professional Support Partners (PSPs). After launching a very successful team of ten communications specialists from nine different countries, we are now looking for accomplished resource development specialists to join a similarly elite team of 10-12 experienced professionals from different regions of the world.
- Strategic Resource Development
- Design and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Help identify major donors, foundations, and corporate partners
- Lead the development of multi‑year funding roadmaps and sustainability plans
- Grant Writing & Management
- Identify relevant grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources
- Write compelling grant proposals or help staff do so by providing templates
- Mentor staff and junior volunteers in grant writing best practices
- Partnership Development
- Help build strategic alliances with corporate partners, community organizations, and key stakeholders
- Develop innovative collaboration models that create mutual value
- Leadership & Capacity Building
- Provide strategic counsel to executive leadership and board members
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops for staff and volunteers
- Establish systems for sustainable fundraising operations
As an Ashoka PSP your expertise will be promoted to staff and a select number of Fellows over the course of two months. If there is a need that you feel you could help meet, an introduction will be made. Until that time your name and contact details will be held confidentially to protect your privacy. The goal of this pilot is to remove many of the barriers that prevent a very busy staff and our mission-driven Fellows from recruiting the crucial support that they need.
