We are looking to recruit hardworking and proactive Care Assistant to be part of our team at our group of elderly care homes: Ashmere Nottinghamshire.

All our homes are of the highest quality with no expense spared on reinvesting into the homes and equipment. All our homes have a minimum rating of Good from CQC from inspections. Our group has been in the same ownership for over 30 years and has been held in consistent high regard.

You will be required to work day shifts from , Full and Part Time hours considered. May be required to cover night shift , or occasionally.

Please note we do not have a sponsorship licence, and therefore we are unable to offer sponsorship.

Ashmere Nottinghamshire is a family run company established over 30 years ago. Our three residential homes provide a homely environment for elderly residential residents in Sutton in Ashfield. All our pet friendly homes are of the highest quality rating.

Ashmere is very much part of the community and most of our residents have previously lived locally. The three homes welcome elderly residential and all stages of dementia. We do not accept any residents with challenging behaviour or one to one needs.

The homes have activities throughout the week engaging residents and continually improving our already high quality of care. We have an onsite pub and tea room.

Candidates must have at least 6-12 months experience of working as a Care Assistant within a Residential, nursing or home care environment, ideal candidates will also have a Care Certificate or NVQ.

You will be caring, compassionate and enthusiastic about providing the highest level of care. Providing support to our residents and their families; helping to promote independence and dignity and positively enhancing the lives of individuals in our care. You will promote the home in a professional manner, by becoming actively involved in raising awareness of the home within the local community,

You will be required to:

Helping to assist with toileting and to promote independence.

Ensure service user\’s room is kept tidy at all times, having fresh towels put in daily.

Assist with service user\’s meals, making use of the correct equipment for example plate guards to help with cutting food up.

Inform Manager or Senior in charge if the service users needs have changed when necessary.

Assist the laundry assistant and ensure correct storage of laundry.

Help service users with moving and handling using walking frames and hoists.

Ensure that the service users retain their dignity and individuality.

Take all reasonable steps to ensure the safe keeping of service user\’s property.

Respect the service user\’s wishes and beliefs.

Be aware of and comply with all Ashmere Care Homes policies and procedures and also with national care standards and regulations.

Two satisfactory references are required and an enhanced DBS check is mandatory, if you are on the update service please let us know.

We will provide full training in house and possibly offer any further training/ qualifications for courses of interest to individuals.
