Role Overview
We are seeking a creative, technically skilled, concept and commercially minded Women’s Wear Fashion Designer to join our growing team. You will lead design from concept through to production, ensuring each garment reflects the brand’s DNA while meeting quality, cost, and timeline expectations. A strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and a clear visual understanding of our brand aesthetic are essential to this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop seasonal womenswear concepts that align with and evolve the brand’s visual identity
- Create mood boards, colour palettes, silhouettes, and fabric & trim selections that clearly reflect the brand aesthetic
- Produce technical flats, spec sheets, and detailed design packs with accurate construction and pattern guidance
- Work closely with pattern cutters, sample machinists, and factories to refine patterns, fits, and finishes
- Review and comment on patterns, toiles, and samples to ensure construction accuracy and design intent
- Present design proposals internally with clear visual storytelling and rationale
- Collaborate with the merchandiser to align creative direction with commercial objectives
- Attend fabric fairs, and supplier visits
- Support the preparation and execution of fashion shows, presentations, and showroom appointments
- Assist with seasonal sales set-ups, including the potential to support Paris-based showrooms during sales periods
- Monitor fit, quality, and cost throughout the design-to-production process
- Support photoshoots, styling, and campaign development when required
Requirements & Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in Fashion Design, Womenswear, or a related field
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a clear visual point of view aligned with brand aesthetics
- Proven ability to interpret and design within an established brand aesthetic
- Excellent understanding of garment construction, pattern making, grading, and fit
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software
- Strong fabric and trim knowledge, including embellishment techniques
- High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communicator with strong organisational and presentation skills
- Collaborative, adaptable, and hands‑on mindset
Preferred / Bonus Skills
- Experience working with sustainable or innovative fabrications
- Understanding of costings, margins, and production constraints
- Experience with fashion shows
Working Hours
Full‑time position: 5 days a week (Monday to Friday)
Working hours: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Based in London, at the Ashley Williams Studio.
