This role plays a key role in promoting physical wellbeing, healthy lifestyles and positive engagement in learning across Ashley Park‐Skylarks School. You will lead the development and delivery of a high‐quality, inclusive PE and outdoor learning programme that reflects the needs of all pupils, encourages participation and supports both physical and emotional wellbeing.

This role combines high‐quality teaching with leadership of PE, outdoor learning and healthy living, creating positive, enjoyable experiences that inspire pupils to be active, confident and motivated.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver and monitor a progressive, high‐quality PE and outdoor learning curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils.
  • Increase participation in sport and physical activity across the school, ensuring access and inclusion for every child.
  • Act as a positive role model, creating a fun, motivating and supportive environment for learning.
  • Promote healthy living through PE, PSHE and outdoor learning, including the development of mindfulness and wellbeing activities.
  • Support pupils to develop confidence, independence, teamwork and positive social interaction through physical activity.
  • Identify and reduce barriers to participation, ensuring all pupils can engage successfully.
  • Maintain effective links with local sporting clubs, organisations and the wider community to enhance opportunities for pupils.
  • Support the organisation and administration of PE activities, including the use of off‐site facilities.
About You
  • Degree in Education (desirable).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (desirable).
  • A good understanding of safeguarding principles and practice.
  • Knowledge and experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
