About the Opportunity
An established and growing accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its friendly and professional team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who has experience in both accounts and audit and is looking to take on a varied role with genuine career development.
You'll work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting and audit services while building strong relationships and supporting the development of junior team members.
The Role
As an Accountant, you'll be responsible for managing a broad range of audit and accounts assignments from planning through to completion.
You'll work directly with clients, provide technical guidance, supervise junior staff and contribute to the continued growth of the practice by identifying opportunities to add value.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, undertake and complete audit and accounts assignments.
- Supervise and support junior team members throughout engagements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Attend client meetings at the start and conclusion of audit and accounts assignments.
- Manage a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.
- Identify risks and provide practical, commercially focused solutions.
- Mentor and develop trainee accountants.
- Review work completed by junior members of the team.
- Identify opportunities to introduce additional services that benefit clients.
- Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently and in line with professional standards.
About You
You'll ideally have
- ACA or ACCA qualification.
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
- Experience preparing accounts and delivering audit assignments.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP.
- An understanding of UK taxation and when to refer more complex matters.
