Ashley Kate HR & Finance are supporting a valued client and are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join a busy finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career while gaining exposure across operational, commercial, and financial reporting functions.
In this position, you will support all areas of site finance, with a primary focus on operations, while also contributing to commercial and financial reporting activities. You'll play a key role in delivering accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and supporting decision‑making across the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare weekly stock and labour reports, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
- Produce weekly gross margin reports, including variance analysis and data accuracy checks
- Support weekly payment run processes
- Maintain spend trackers and monitor departmental expenditure, highlighting variances
- Prepare weekly operations and commercial KPI reports
- Assist with month‑end processes, including reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support to senior finance stakeholders as required
About you:
- Highly motivated, proactive, and detail-focused
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks through to completion
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams
- Professional, confident, and able to take ownership of your work
- Currently studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
