Our client, a well-established and highly regarded law firm, is seeking a diligent and proactive Finance Assistant to join their Finance Team in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and experience in legal or high-volume finance environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit invoices and credit notes; post receipts and manage client/office ledger transfers.
- Monitor and clear residual balances, issue payment reminders, and chase outstanding debts.
- Prepare and draft bills, including recalculating time entries and reviewing contractual information.
- Process and reconcile purchase and disbursement accounts monthly.
- Prepare VAT returns, maintain asset registers, and carry out bank and petty cash reconciliations.
- Manage client money accounts in line with SRA requirements.
About You
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a law firm or high-volume finance environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules and VAT (or willingness to learn).
- Well organised, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in financial systems and Microsoft Office.
