Ashley Kate HR is pleased to be supporting our client in the education sector with the recruitment of an experienced HR Manager to join their team on a fixed-term basis until Summer 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‐on HR professional to lead the day‐to‐day HR function, working closely with senior leaders to provide expert advice, drive continuous improvement and ensure HR processes remain compliant, efficient and people‐focused.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across a wide range of people matters.
  • Manage employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and performance management.
  • Lead the full recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring compliance with Safer Recruitment requirements.
  • Review, develop and implement HR policies and procedures in line with current employment legislation and best practice.
  • Support organisational change, consultation processes and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Coach and develop managers, building confidence in managing people matters effectively.
  • Oversee HR administration, payroll changes, employee records and HR systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate mandatory training, support staff wellbeing initiatives and contribute to equality, diversity and inclusion objectives.
  • Produce HR reports and workforce data to support informed decision-making.

About You

We're looking for an experienced HR professional who enjoys building relationships, supporting managers and delivering an excellent HR service. You will have:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience), with Level 7 desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience managing a broad range of employee relations cases.
  • Previous experience leading recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work independently while partnering effectively with senior leaders.
  • A proactive, organised and solutions‐focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • Previous experience within the education sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
