Ashley Kate HR & Finance are working on behalf of our client, who are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional to take ownership of accurate and timely payroll processing while collaborating closely with Finance, HR, and other key stakeholders.
As a Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for:
- Processing weekly payrolls accurately and within deadlines
- Maintaining payroll records using Sage 50 Payroll, Sage HR, and People HR
- Reviewing and validating timesheets, overtime, and additional payments
- Managing starters, leavers, salary adjustments, and statutory payments (e.g. maternity and sickness)
- Reconciling payroll reports and resolving any discrepancies
- Preparing and exporting payroll data using Excel
- Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and current payroll legislation
- Responding to employee queries relating to payslips, tax codes, pensions, and deductions
- Processing third-party payments, including HMRC deductions
- Supporting statutory submissions such as RTI and pension contributions
- Assisting with year-end processes, including P60s and P11Ds
- Working collaboratively with HR, Finance, and management teams
The ideal candidate will:
- Have proven experience in a payroll position
- Possess strong knowledge of PAYE and statutory payroll requirements
