Ashley Kate HR & Finance are excited to be partnering with our very well established client in the Derbyshire area as they recruit for a stand alone Head of People & Culture to join them. This is a unique opportunity to make this role your own in an environment of autonomy where you will drive the strategic direction of the business as well as manage the hands on operational day to day within a people focused environment. The role is Hybrid, with 4 days a week required in Matlock, and 1 day WFH. Salary up to c£55000 DOE.
About the Role
- Reporting directly into the Managing Director, and acting as a trusted partner to the senior leadership team, you will manage a small team of 2.
- This is the perfect blend of strategic and operational elements, offering variety across both the manufacturing and office areas of the business, responsible for driving a commercial, people centred HR function.
- The post holder will be responsible for delivering the People & Culture strategy, aligning to business objectives, across a unionised manufacturing environment.
- Build credibility, and strong long lasting relationships across the management teams and wider workforce.
- Lead in all internal communications, systems and data management.
- Develop robust policies and processes with strong employment law knowledge.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management.
- Coach leaders at all levels, supporting in capability and performance issues - Designing and delivering learning, training and development frameworks.
- Lead in Employee relations, managing complex situations with confidence.
- Lead in wellbeing and engagement initiatives and lead the Employee forum.
- Succession and talent planning.
- Oversee payroll, HR administration and health & safety.
About you
- To be considered for this fantastic opportunity you will be a resilient and commercially focused HR professional with experience in a leadership role within a unionised blue collar environment.
- We seek a confident communicator, who can manage relationships from shop floor to board level with the confidence to influence and challenge.
- You will have experience in leading strategy but happy to roll your sleeves up and handle the day to day operational elements.
- You will be tech-savvy and data driven with a forward-thinking approach to digital HR, CIPD qualified to level 5 or above with strong understanding of employment legislation.
