Ashley Kate Finance are working with our valued client who is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Specialist to join their team. This is a varied, hands-on role offering responsibility across all areas of the accounts function within a supportive and professional environment.
The role: You will manage day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial controls across the business.
- Sales Ledger
- Preparing and issuing invoices and credit notes (service, contracts, spares, machine sales, hire, training)
- Posting transactions to Sage and maintaining accurate records
- Managing customer statements, account queries, and proforma invoices
- Monitoring and reporting uninvoiced jobs
- Checking supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes
- Posting invoices and credit notes to Sage
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries
- Chasing outstanding payments
- Producing aged debt reports
- Assisting with supplier payment scheduling and payment runs
- Allocating and posting customer and supplier payments
- Weekly bank reconciliations
- Processing timesheets and supporting payroll submissions
- Posting payroll, dividends, and expenses
- Preparing quarterly VAT returns
- Maintaining asset registers and depreciation records
- Posting journals and supporting month-end reporting
- Liaising with external accountants and assisting with year-end preparation
About you:
- Previous experience in a similar accounts role
- Strong Sage knowledge
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to work independently
- Able to manage multiple deadlines in a busy environment
