We are recruiting an EDM Operator & Programmer for our reputable client (permanent position).
Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire
Salary: Competitive (DOE)
Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm, Friday 8:00am-1:00pm
Overtime: Available
Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the UK
About our Client
A well-established precision engineering company, operating from modern facilities with a strong order book. They specialise in high precision components for demanding sectors. They are now seeking an experienced EDM Operator & Programmer to join their skilled team.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set and operate EDM sparking and wire machines
- Produce precision components to tight tolerances
- Work from engineering drawings, including geometric tolerances
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspections
- Set machine parameters to optimise performance
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
- Troubleshoot machine and process issues
- Keep machines and work areas clean and organised (5S)
- Follow job packs and complete operations as required
- Report progress and issues to the Cell Lead
Requirements
- Proven experience as an EDM Setter, Operator or Programmer
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience working with precision components
- Knowledge of machining various materials (e.g. stainless, duplex, nickel alloys)
- Good attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances
- Basic IT skills for data entry and record keeping
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience with Sodick machines or programming
- Background in precision engineering environments
