Job Description Mechanical Design Engineer We are recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for our reputable client on a permanent basis. Role: Mechanical Design Engineer Days/Hours: 3 day week, 24 hour week. About our Client hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer: Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to support new and existing valve projects. This permanent opportunity will involve producing engineering drawings, Bills of Materials and Installation, Operating and Maintenance manuals to agreed quality standards and timescales. Key Responsibilities as a Mechanical Design Engineer: Provide 3D design concepts and planning drawings to meet sales briefs Create Installation, Operating and Maintenance manuals to meet customer and production requirements Maintain filing systems and general drawing office housekeeping Transfer legacy drawings into the updated CAD PDM system Support specification and testing of electrical items fitted to valves and third-party products Provide design support across manufacturing, including machine shop, assembly, purchasing, inspection, stores and dispatch Assist the Technical Manager during R&D projects Provide design support for Sales and Marketing when required Requirements for the Mechanical Design Engineer role: Mechanical Design Engineering experience is essential Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision Competent with 3D CAD systems such as Autodesk Inventor or similar Willing to improve own performance wherever possible Understanding of basic electrical concepts
