Oaklea Dementia Care Unit, within Ashlea Court Care Home, is part of Willinbrook Healthcare and provides specialist dementia care for up to 26 residents. The unit offers a structured, supportive and homely environment designed to meet the needs of individuals living with dementia.
£12.71 per hour, 37.5 hours per week, rota over 7 days including weekends and occasional evenings. Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided, 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract).
Role Overview
As an Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life within a specialist complex care setting, supporting individuals with a range of complex physical and mental health needs. You will plan and deliver engaging, meaningful and person-centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction. Activities will be tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs, including those who may require a more structured or sensitive approach to engagement. Building positive relationships is essential, helping you understand individual preferences, behaviours and communication styles to support inclusive participation. You will create a calm, supportive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, confident and connected. Working closely with the wider team, you will contribute to a consistent and supportive environment, adapting activities where required and responding appropriately to changes in mood, behaviour or wellbeing.
