The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 € per year.

We are an established GP Surgery in West Swindon. The position would especially suit an applicant with previous experience in a primary care setting with an interest in maintaining excellent patient relationships. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, and have the ability to work in a pressured environment of a busy practice. The role is for 38 hours per week, working over 5 days (Monday - Friday) - weekends and bank holidays off. The shift pattern will alternate every three weeks between an early week and a later start week, for example:

  • Week 1: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:00
  • Week 2: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:00
  • Week 3: Monday - Friday: 10:00 - 6:00

The occasional 7AM start/6:30PM finish will be required.

Main duties of the job

  • Working on the front desk reception, meeting and greeting patients, arriving them for their appointments, booking follow ups etc.
  • Processing new patient registrations
  • Making outgoing calls, booking follow up appointments
  • Monitoring the practice email account
  • Scanning documents into the patients record

Due to changes within the reception team an opportunity has arisen at our established and busy GP Practice for a Receptionist/Administrator to join our team here at Ashington House Surgery. Our clinical team is supported by experienced receptionists and administrative staff, we look after over 10,000 registered patients. The practice has 7 permanent GPs, who are supported by 3 Practice Nurses and 2 Healthcare Assistants. We are based in Westlea, in West Swindon. Everyone working in the practice is valued for the role they play in providing high-quality services for our patients.

Job responsibilities

Our Receptionists/Administrators serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, offering excellent patient service and administrative support. They are responsible for managing appointments, assisting patients with their enquiries, and supporting the clinical team with administrative duties.

Person Specification

Experience

  • Experience working within an office environment, dealing with members of the public, or within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience of working in a GP practice is particularly desirable. Experience on our clinical system (TPP SystmOne).
