Ashington Brooke Ltd provides temporary emergency accommodation for homeless households across 4 properties in Inverness, providing accommodation for 40 clients. In addition, we have two properties providing self-catering accommodation to tourists within 25 bedrooms / apartments.
The company is a small, family run business. We aim to ensure the quality of the client\’s experience in either temporary accommodation or self-catering tourist accommodation is the best it can be. Due to the retirement of a long-term staff member, we are seeking a self-motivated individual with a strong personality, who is able to cope with a large and varied client base.
*The Role*
The role is that of Relief Warden, where you will provide holiday cover for other staff members. This means that you may be covering Night Staff, of whom there are 2, who work 4 nights on and 4 nights off from 9pm to 9am or the afternoon Cleaner / Warden who works Mon – Fri 1pm – 9pm. In total you would cover around 46-night shifts in a year and around 20 afternoon shifts. When you are not providing holiday cover as detailed above then your normal hours will be Sat & Sun 9am – 9pm and a further 8 hour shift 9am – 5pm on a day to suit both parties.
*Duties*
No shift is likely to be the same and any number of the tasks listed below may end up being undertaken during a shift:
* Cleaning common areas (kitchens, bathrooms, corridors), undertaking room turn overs when clients leave, which may include packing up the clients’ belongings as well as processing laundry including pressing;
* Liaison with the Highland Council staff and other Agencies;

* Patrolling the properties on a regular basis to ensure everything is OK in the property;
* Monitoring CCTV via the control room of the properties;
* Assisting clients who cannot get into their room;

* Dealing with phone calls / texts from clients;
* Logging details of incidents with the company database;
* Basic gardening duties – mowing the grass, leaf collecting, hedge cutting;
* Basic DIY – painting, minor repairs, changing bulbs, etc;
This is not an exhaustive list of the tasks required, but gives a flavour of the variety of the role.
*Experience*

Good oral and written communication skills are essential to the role, as is a sense of understanding to individual’s situations. Basic IT skills are also a requirement.
