Ashgate School is seeking to recruit a Headteacher who is a great all-rounder—enthusiastic, innovative and highly motivated. A strong commitment to maintaining our 'Outstanding' status and leading by example are of key importance.
Responsibilities
- To continue to raise standards across the school with particular reference to academic performance so that all pupils achieve to the very best of their ability.
- To lead in the provision of excellent learning and teaching.
- To formulate a vision of school improvement and to lead the staff and Governing Body in reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of the School Development Plan.
- To report to the School’s Governing Body on progress made against School Development Plan objectives, making recommendations as to future priorities.
- To further develop partnerships with a variety of stakeholders through collaboration.
- To lead the school through rigorous self-evaluation, including quality assurance and performance management at all levels.
- To develop, inspire and motivate effective teams in order to raise standards across the school.
- To promote and maintain links with the local community.
Ideal Candidate
- Recent, significant experience in a specialist education setting.
- Evidence of recent significant senior leadership experience.
- Experience of successful implementation of strategies achieving and ensuring effective teaching and assessment for raising standards.
- Experience of teaching in more than one school desirable.
- Data analysis skills and the ability to use data for strategic decision making and target setting.
- Understanding of high-quality teaching based on evidence.
- Effective communication skills and ability to build effective and professional working relationships.
- To inspire and collaborate with others to implement the ongoing development of the school vision.
- Displays a commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
- Has up-to-date knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and guidance in relation to working with, and the protection of, children and young people.
