We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Associate, ideally with 3â6 years PQE, to join our wellâregarded Commercial and IP team in Bristol. You will report directly to Partners David Varney and Suzie Miles and play an integral part in the team, working across a full range of nonâcontentious commercial services. Your work will include drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts, software, hardware, maintenance and support contracts, and goods and services agreements. You will also engage in a wide range of commercial work including IP, data protection, cybersecurity, technology, and IT.
Typical caseloads will cover:
- Technology licensing agreements
- Digital transformation projects
- General commercial agreements
- AI development and licensing
- Digital content creation and distribution contracts
- Data provisions
- SaaS agreements
- Agency and distribution arrangements
- Support for our corporate finance team on technologyâsector transactions
As an experienced commercial lawyer, preferably with a national or city firm background, you have a proven track record of highâquality work and some focus on data or technology. You are an excellent communicator with strong technical and organisational skills, comfortable working under pressure to meet deadlines. You have good general commercial and contract experience and are looking to further develop your skills with highâquality work and senior support, while demonstrating initiative. You have a keen eye for detail, are meticulous in drafting complex contracts, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You are selfâmotivated, ambitious, and committed to client relationships, and you are keen to contribute to business development.
