We are on the lookout for a proactive and enthusiastic Legal Support Assistant (LSA) to join our busy Trusts and Estates department on a full time basis in our Exeter office. As an integral part of the team, you’ll ensure the provision of an efficient and effective PA and secretarial support service to assigned stakeholders.
The role of the LSA is to provide a full range of administrative and secretarial support to assigned fee-earners including meeting, communicating and interacting with clients, diary management, use of digital dictation (to include correspondence) and preparing and printing documents; along with PA responsibilities such as arranging travel and preparing expense claims.
Creating key contacts around the firm, you will liaise with many support teams throughout the firm and also assist other LSAs and fee-earners as and when required.
Who you are
Previous experience as an LSA or as a strong administrator is preferable but not essential. Experience working within a law firm and within the Trusts and Estates department would also be preferable. You’ll be an enthusiastic, well-organised self-starter who enjoys working within a busy team and independently. You will demonstrate an ability to respond to the needs of the business, acting professionally and ethically to protect the confidentiality of the firm and its people.
As a strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude, you will possess excellent interpersonal skills and a flair for building effective working relationships across all levels. Ask our people, and they will tell you that they genuinely enjoy coming to work and spending time with their colleagues. We’re confident that once you discover our open and friendly culture, it won’t take long for you to feel the same.
We have a genuine team approach at Ashfords because we know that when talented people work together, we achieve more for our clients and each other. We also recognise that each of our career journeys is unique. So, we will be ambitious for you and give you the support you need to develop your career, your way. Importantly, we will give you the space and flexibility for your life outside work too. Our goal? To help you realise your full potential as part of a forward-thinking team and business. That’s what sets us apart.
Our Offer
We offer a range of benefits to support you at work and at home. This includes a flexible working framework, extra annual leave for your birthday and the option to buy more holiday. We have a comprehensive package to support physical and mental health, healthcare plans, an Employee Assistance programme and free access to the Calm mindfulness app. You’ll also have the chance to get involved in our responsible business programme, including taking part in fundraising initiatives and bringing your energy to our environment or diversity groups.
