Ashford School is an independent, coeducational, day and boarding school for children from 0-18, founded in 1898. There are nearly 1000 students in the whole School, divided equally between the Senior School (11-18) and the Prep School and Nurseries (0-11). We expect the number of students in the Senior School to grow over the next ten years and are planning developments which will allow this to happen progressively. At full capacity there are 170 boarders in the Senior School, mostly from overseas, cared for by a number of resident teachers and support staff; 20 nationalities are represented.

Candidates should be accustomed to, or capable of, teaching students of a wide ability range. Commitment and drive are critical qualities for this role, as is a demonstrable curiosity and interest in the importance of Maths teaching.

The Maths Faculty is currently made up of a team of seven subject specialists, including the Faculty Leader. The faculty teaches Mathematics, Further Maths and Core Maths. The Edexcel specifications are taught at iGCSE and A Level. This is a full-time position. As a teacher at Ashford School, you will use your imagination and creativity to challenge and inspire our students to enjoy Maths. You will also possess the insight to convey the intricacies of these subjects in an engaging and adventurous way.

Responding to the needs of the individual student is a vital aspect of a teacher’s role at Ashford School, whether this is during co-curricular activities, in one-to-one academic booster sessions or when guiding the most able through Oxbridge problems. Teachers at Ashford enjoy a welcoming, comfortable and well-resourced environment and are provided with assistance from a range of support staff. All teachers act as Form Tutors and are expected to contribute to the co-curricular life of the School. Single person accommodation may be available in return for boarding duties.

All teaching staff and pupils in Years 7-11 have their own Microsoft device. Note - We reserve the right to interview and offer to a strong candidate prior to the closing date.
