Ashford Recruitment are proud to bring to the market a live vacancy for a Senior Residential Support Worker, located across Hinckley, Coalville and Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced children's residential professional to join a supportive team and take on a senior role within an Ofsted-regulated children's home.
We are looking for candidates who have the experience and confidence to provide high-quality care to children and young people, while also supporting colleagues and taking a lead role during shifts.

THE ROLE
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the home, supporting children and young people while providing guidance and leadership to other members of the team.
You will help ensure that care is delivered consistently and safely, with a strong focus on safeguarding, individual care plans, risk management and positive outcomes for children and young people.
This role would particularly suit an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker, or an experienced Residential Support Worker who has already taken on additional responsibilities and is ready to progress into a senior position.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years\' recent hands-on experience working within an Ofsted-regulated children\'s residential home.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate experience of:
- Following and contributing to individual care plans.
- Completing and reviewing risk assessments.
- Managing incidents and challenging situations.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Supporting children and young people with complex needs.
- Providing guidance and support to other members of staff.
- Leading shifts or taking additional responsibility within the home.
- Working in line with Ofsted requirements and children\'s residential care standards.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
This qualification is an essential requirement for the role.
DESIRABLE
- Willingness to work towards a Level 5 qualification.
- Team Leader or Shift Leader experience.
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD and/or SEMH needs.
- Experience mentoring and developing colleagues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to children and young people.
- Act as a positive role model and provide guidance to other staff.
- Support and lead shifts within the home.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
- Follow individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Support positive behaviour management and de-escalation.
- Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and timely records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, managers and external professionals.
- Support new and existing staff through mentoring and guidance.
- Promote positive relationships and outcomes for children and young people.
- Ensure the home operates in line with relevant policies, procedures and Ofsted requirements.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who is experienced, reliable, confident and passionate about children's residential care.
You will need to be comfortable taking additional responsibility during shifts and supporting other members of the team.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are already working at Senior Residential Support Worker level, as well as experienced Residential Support Workers who can demonstrate genuine shift-leading, mentoring or additional responsibilities and are ready to progress.

- Up to £36,000 basic salary.

LOCATION & SHIFT REQUIREMENTS
The roles are based across Hinckley, Coalville and Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.
Candidates must be realistically commutable to the relevant home and be willing to work the required residential shift pattern, including sleep-ins.
IMPORTANT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Please note that the following are essential for this position:
Minimum 2 years' recent experience within an Ofsted-regulated children's residential home
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
We are looking for genuine children's residential experience. Experience solely within adult services, supported accommodation or other care environments will not meet the requirements of this position.
