As a Lecturer of ESOL at EKC Ashford College, you will play a key role in supporting learners to develop the English language skills, confidence and independence they need to succeed in education, employment and everyday life. You will deliver high-quality teaching, training and assessment across a range of learning environments, working with learners from diverse backgrounds and at different stages of their learning journey.
What you will do:
- Teach, train and assess ESOL learners, ensuring engaging and inclusive learning experiences
- Support learners to achieve their maximum potential through tailored guidance and support
- Design, deliver and evaluate ESOL study programmes and courses
- Lead on designated programmes or courses where appropriate
- Monitor learner progress and contribute to positive outcomes and achievement

Salary: £18,055 up to £19,780
We pride ourselves in the support we can give those who are new to teaching, with ongoing training and coaching through our Teacher Academy. About You:
You are highly organised, creative and passionate about teaching, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging, innovative lessons that bring learning to life. Your strong interpersonal skills help you build positive relationships with learners and create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment. You enjoy assessing and tracking learner progress, using this insight to plan timely interventions and ensure every student develops the skills and confidence they need to succeed. Supporting learner progress is central to your approach, and you are motivated by seeing learners achieve their goals. Ideally, you will have experience teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and working with young people. However, this is not essential, as training and support will be provided for the successful candidate. What matters most is your positive outlook, empathy for learners, and your ability to manage classes effectively and confidently. You will be comfortable teaching across a range of designated study programmes and courses from Pre-Entry up to Level 2, motivating learners to engage, progress and succeed throughout their programmes of study.

Salary and joining details:
Please note that there are two salary scale points for Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Lecturers will normally move up to the highest salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete. Internal applicants in the same role may qualify for the higher salary scale, although you should seek clarification.
