About The Role
Empower the Workforce that Shapes Futures - Join us as Employee Relations Advisor. Are you an experienced HR professional with a real zest for all things ER? If you enjoy working in a team that leads on the implementation of effective, current and people focused employee relations, then this could be exactly the role for you.
We are a large Further Education College Group with six sites across East Kent and a workforce of 1500 staff. As part of our People Services team, you will work within a small team of ER Advisors, working closely with the HR Business Partners across the Group. Your role will be varied across the ER spectrum, having responsibility for full case management of ER including grievance, disciplinary and capability, as well as being our experts in applying case law to our procedures and policies and our leads on ER best practice and risk mitigation.
You will be leading on the analysis of ER data to inform strategies and improvement measures for our Business Units. You must therefore have experience of working with HR metrics to inform actions and be confident in presenting your findings to senior managers.
You will be responsible for risk mitigation with all ER cases, assessing each case for potential risk and providing solutions based on your ER knowledge for mitigating those risks. You will need to be experienced and confident in seeking external legal support and interpreting this information to implement effective solutions.
You will also work in partnership with the team of Senior and HR Business Partners to resolve potential or ongoing conflicts across the Group, as well as working to implement best practice of ER within each of our Business Units.
Our HR policies and procedures are key within our organisation, and you will regularly review these and update in line with case law and research into HR best practice. A thirst for research and continual updating of case law knowledge is certainly a must for this role!
