An exciting opportunity has become available for a Lecturer in Plumbing to join our dedicated EKC Training Plumbing & Electrical Centre in Ashford. This is a full‑time position working 37 hours per week Monday‑Friday including one evening class per week. In this role, you will inspire the next generation of plumbing professionals by teaching, training and assessing learners across a range of practical and classroom‑based environments. You will create engaging learning experiences that help every student reach their full potential, while leading on the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of study programmes. From developing industry‑ready skills to supporting learners every step of the way, you will play a vital role in shaping confident, capable tradespeople for the future.

About You:

You’ll be a highly organised and creative educator, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging, innovative lessons that inspire learners. You’ll have strong interpersonal skills, a positive and empathetic approach, and the confidence to manage a classroom effectively. Tracking student progress and using this to plan targeted support and interventions will be a key part of your role. Ideally, you’ll have experience teaching or delivering training in the workplace, although this isn’t essential as full training will be provided. You’ll be able to teach across Level 1 to Level 3 programmes and motivate learners to achieve and succeed in their studies.

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Lecturers will normally move up to the highest salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete. (Lecturers must be in post by 1st September in any given year to qualify and this is subject to approval). Therefore, internal applicants in the same role may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification.
