We are looking for an experienced surveyor with a keen eye for diagnosing complex repairs and a strong understanding of disrepair claims and housing regulations. You will play a key role in ensuring effective repairs to disrepair claims across the borough.
You will review expert reports, assess disrepair letters of claim, conduct pre-work surveys, and create job specifications for works carried out by our operatives and contractors. In addition, you will support the team in expert Disrepair Surveyor services, along with:
- Conducting inspections of council properties to diagnose and progress repair solutions.
- Inspecting and managing disrepair claims.
- Developing specifications for complex repairs.
- Liaising with contractors and overseeing pre/post work inspections and monitoring the delivery of repairs.
- Assisting in identifying structural issues and contributing to reports.
- Acting as an expert witness in legal cases involving disrepair claims.
To be competent in this role, it is essential that you have a degree or higher qualification in a building discipline along with extensive experience managing disrepair cases and responsive maintenance repairs. In addition, you will need to have a full UK driving licence and be physically fit to conduct inspections, including accessing ladders and scaffolding.
