We are looking for a committed Assessment and Resettlement Officer to join our Housing service and play a vital role in delivering the Ashford Homelessness & Rough Sleeper Strategy. This is a rewarding opportunity to support some of the most vulnerable people in our community by helping rough sleepers and single homeless individuals move away from the streets and into safe, sustainable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Carry out early and late street outreach sessions to engage individuals sleeping rough.
- Complete holistic assessments, risk assessments, and support plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Help clients access suitable accommodation and support them to sustain their tenancy.
- Provide practical support around budgeting, debt, employment, health, substance misuse, and community integration.
- Work with highly vulnerable individuals, including those at risk of exploitation, and regularly work outside normal office hours.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience working with entrenched rough sleepers or people with high support needs.
- Experience delivering holistic support plans.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Ability to build effective relationships with partner agencies and community groups.
- Confidence in working with distressed or challenging clients.
