The Urgent Treatment Centre at St Peters Emergency Department is passionate about providing excellent care for patients and their families. We are recruiting Band 7 Emergency Practitioners and Band 6 Junior Emergency Practitioners to join our team. We welcome applications from individuals seeking Full time, Part Time, or Bank hours who have a proven background in urgent and emergency care and can deliver high-quality care under pressure.

As a clinician in the Urgent Treatment Centre, you will work as an independent, autonomous practitioner delivering consistent, evidence-based, patient-centered care. You will utilize your diagnostic and clinical skills to manage a diverse range of patients with acute, undifferentiated illnesses and injuries. The role requires initiative, clinical expertise, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess, diagnose, treat, refer, and discharge patients with injuries or illnesses independently within your competence and protocols.
  2. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and radiological imaging.
  3. Make referrals to other healthcare professionals and prescribe medicines (if qualified) using PGDs, as well as perform treatments.
  4. Provide clinical leadership and ensure high standards of holistic, patient-centered care. Manage resources and staff performance.
  5. Implement audit, quality, and risk management initiatives.
  6. Maintain contact with internal and external multidisciplinary teams through Link Roles.
  7. Contribute to the Trust’s objectives by supporting the ASPH Nursing & Midwifery Strategy and standards, and promote staff development and high-quality patient care.

Proactive clinical skills, excellent communication, teamwork, workload management, and flexibility are essential for this role.
