Ashfield District Council have a great opportunity for a Technical Officer - Damp, Mould & Disrepair to join our team based in Kirkby in Ashfield. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £34,314 - £37,035 per annum (pay award pending).

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Technical Officer to join our team, with a specific focus on investigating, diagnosing and resolving issues related to damp, mould and disrepair across our housing stock. You will play a key role in ensuring that homes are maintained to a high standard and are safe, warm and habitable for our residents. This is an essential position that supports our commitment to tackling housing-related health hazards and delivering excellent customer service.

You may be required to:

  • Undertake property inspections and diagnostics focused on damp, mould, condensation, and general disrepair.
  • Produce clear and detailed inspection reports including photographic evidence, schedules of work, and technical recommendations.
  • Liaise with residents to investigate complaints and explain findings and remedial works.
  • Instruct and supervise contractors, ensuring works are carried out to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Keep accurate records using the organisation's asset and housing management systems.
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement and support programmes aimed at preventing damp and disrepair issues.
