The Legal Team is looking for a Graduate Legal Assistant to join a forward-thinking legal team shaping Ashfield’s future.
Perfectly positioned in the East Midlands, Ashfield is well connected and undergoing significant transformation. With strong transport links and a mix of town centres and rural communities, the district is ambitious for the future, and the Council plays a central role in supporting residents and delivering meaningful improvements.
About the Role
Our in-house legal team plays a crucial role in enabling the Council’s vision. As we move through significant local regeneration and change, we’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic graduate legal assistant who is looking to develop their legal career in a role that delivers real benefits to local communities.
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a busy workload and work well under pressure
- Flexible, proactive approach
You will gain knowledge and experience in a legal setting, supporting lawyers across a diverse range of legal disciplines including criminal and civil litigation, property, contract, licensing, planning and information governance. You will be supported with your development and in addition to providing administrative and case work support to the team, you will assist with information requests, undertake legal research and draft legal documents and court paperwork. While experience in local government is an advantage, we equally value a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a proactive approach.
