We have an exciting opportunity for a creative, proactive, and people-focused individual to join the team at Houndshill Shopping Centre. This is a varied and dynamic role where no two days are the same, you'll be at the heart of driving footfall, supporting retailers, and bringing the centre to life through engaging marketing campaigns, social media, and events. Working closely with the Centre Manager and wider site team, you'll play a key role in shaping how the centre connects with its community, retailers, and visitors, helping to create a vibrant and successful retail destination.

Houndshill Shopping Centre is a thriving retail hub in the heart of Blackpool, home to over 55 stores including well-known national brands and independent retailers. With an annual footfall of over 6 million visitors, it's a busy, fast-paced environment with a strong connection to the local community. The centre is managed by Ashdown Phillips, a forward-thinking and dynamic property management company with a reputation for delivering vibrant, community-focused destinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Centre Manager and Office Administrator to build strong relationships with tenants, understanding their performance, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Lead the development and delivery of creative marketing and social media plans to drive engagement and sales.
  • Manage and grow the centre's social media channels, including content creation, scheduling, posting, and responding to customer enquiries.
  • Maintain and update the shopping centre website to ensure all content is accurate, engaging, and up to date.
  • Plan and deliver the annual marketing and events calendar, ensuring alignment with budgets and strategic objectives.
  • Help drive footfall through innovative campaigns, promotions, and events.
  • Collect and analyse monthly turnover figures and prepare weekly/monthly performance reports.
  • Support market research initiatives to better understand customer behaviour and trends.
  • Manage and promote centre sponsorship opportunities.
  • Liaise with external agencies including events, creative, digital, and commercialisation partners.
  • Build and maintain strong community relationships, helping position the centre as a key local destination.
  • Produce engaging retailer communications, including monthly newsletters and performance updates.
  • Support with tenant meetings and preparation of presentations when required.
  • Coordinate marketing materials such as mall directories, signage, pop-ups, and promotional displays.
  • Assist with initiatives to activate vacant units and support wider commercial strategies.
  • Ensure all duties are carried out in line with Health & Safety policies and emergency procedures.

About You:

  • A friendly and approachable personality with a genuine passion for people and places.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in a marketing or similar environment.
  • Confident managing social media platforms and creating engaging content.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, 'can-do' attitude.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using MS Office and keen to learn new systems and technologies.
  • A team player who enjoys collaborating with others.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays (time off in lieu provided).
