This position represents an exciting chance to become part of a dynamic and fast-growing team responsible for managing The Connection, the newly redeveloped business estate formerly known as the Vodafone Village. The primary objective of the role is to provide a professional, welcoming, and efficient service to all occupiers, visitors, and service partners. The successful candidate will ensure a high-quality experience for all occupiers, maintain smooth and effective building operations, and serve as a vital communication link between site operations and building management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Open and close the reception desk daily, ensuring that any important information is communicated to the security team as appropriate.
  • Greet all occupiers on arrival, verifying that they display their access cards upon entry.
  • Ensure that all visitors are properly signed in upon arrival and checked out when leaving the building.
  • Take pride in maintaining the appearance and atmosphere of the reception area, including directing the cleaning team as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service when responding to all types of enquiries.
  • Answer all incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally, always maintaining a courteous and helpful manner.
  • Notify occupiers of incoming mail and appropriately direct parcels.
  • Approve app access control requests for occupiers in accordance with building policy, and issue parking permits where relevant.
  • Process meeting room enquiries by checking availability and assisting with bookings as necessary.
  • Remain vigilant for any hazards within the building and estate.
  • Collect and document any building or estate issues reported to reception, ensuring they are referred to the estate management team.
  • Enforce established policies and procedures across the estate.
  • Update and manage content on the building engagement platform as required.
  • Carry out reporting and various administrative tasks as part of daily operations.
  • Run a programme of occupier engagement initiatives and provide support for any estate-wide events.
  • Order staff stationery or consumables for the building’s core areas as needed.
  • Act as a Fire Warden during operational hours and actively participate in fire drills.

Person Specification

We place a strong emphasis on recruiting individuals with the right personality and attitude, with the intention to provide full training for the required skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service skills, outstanding organisational and time management abilities, and the capacity to respond promptly to requests. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as the role requires communication at all levels. Proficiency in IT, specifically with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, is also required.

Position Details and Benefits

This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 17:00, including a one-hour break each day. Optional overtime may be available for event bookings outside regular hours. The role offers a competitive salary. The holiday package includes 23 days of annual leave, increasing by one day for each year of service, up to a maximum of 25 days, in addition to eight bank holidays. Additional benefits include three wellness days per year.
