We are seeking an industry experienced Bookkeeper to join a creative media company as part of their growing team. As Bookkeeper, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health and efficiency of the brand. If you have a passion for numbers, an eye for detail, and a desire to work within a creative industry then this is an excellent opportunity. The role is part time (24 hours a week) and is offered with flexible working hours and hybrid working from their offices in South West London.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the MD and external Accountants to provide financial support across the company's two entities.
- Record and maintain financial transactions using Xero software, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Create monthly financial statements: cash flow, P&L and balance sheets.
- Oversee the accounts receivable process, including invoicing clients, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
- Manage accounts payable by processing vendor invoices, verifying accuracy, and arranging timely payments.
- Process and track invoices, payments, and expenses.
- Reconcile bank accounts and cash transactions regularly to ensure accurate financial reporting and complete VAT returns.
- Coordinate with the accountants to prepare year-end accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Maintain asset and liability register, and ensure tax efficiency across the company and its media activities, identifying areas for improvement across the business.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Previous experience within a Bookkeeping role.
- AAT qualified (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting regulations and tax laws.
- Advanced skills in spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and Xero software.
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capability to identify and address financial issues effectively.
