Job Description

A government body is seeking an experienced Operations Manager – Repairs to be responsible for the delivery & continuous improvement of council repairs service.

Based in the Swindon area, supporting operational teams and front-line operatives on site 4 days per week. This is a contract role for initially 24 weeks from approximately 15th September and paying £53.95 per hour, less deductions for insurance, taxes and umbrella company charges (PAYE £40.04 per hour). The closing date is Monday 8 th September.

Duties will include:

  • Manage large scale repairs across housing & corporate assets, ensuring compliance with standards

  • Oversee staffing, budgets c£10m, and equipment to deliver efficient service

  • Lead procurement and management of maintenance contracts

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of building construction, property maintenance, and housing standards

  • Proven track record of leading operational teams and managing high-value budgets in a housing or local authority setting

To be suitable for this role you must have experience working in similar Operations Manager role responsible for repairs in a local government organisation.
